SN: What drew you to the music industry?

VR: We can’t really say we were drawn to the “industry” side of it, but we all have a strong passion for music and performance and are crazy enough to pursue it.

SN: Who are you inspired by?

VR: The 1975, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, and golden retrievers.

SN:Please explain your creative process.

VR: Ideas for our songs come from both musical and life experiences both past and present. Sometimes it starts with a simple melody and other times it might start with lyrics and we just build it from there adding drums, guitar, piano, synth etc...

SN:What is the inspiration for "Only One?"

VR: Inspiration for this song came from hearing friends’ experiences of crazy parties. No friends were harmed in the making of this single! We also have a new single coming out soon called “Cold War,” and the inspiration for that stemmed off the fear of monotony and stagnation with the yearning for more out of life.

SN: What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

VR: Performing live music and connecting with our fans is definitely the highlight of what we do. Our least favorite things would be the loading and unloading of gear which is never much fun and needing to take time away from playing music to work on some of the business side of things.

SN: Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

VR: We used to get it a little bit in the beginning, but not so much these days. Now it’s not the performance itself that can induce anxiety, but more the logistics surrounding a show and everything needed to make sure things run smoothly.

SN:Tell me about your favorite performance venues.

VR: We generally like all venues. Large venues give us the luxury of a large stage and sound system to move around freely and we can really feed off of the live energy of the crowd while smaller, more intimate venues, give us a chance to have a more personal experience interacting with the audience.

SN: What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

VR: Persistence is key. There is a lot of groundwork that needs to be covered before you are playing regularly. The path you walk may not always look like what you envisioned in the moment.
