The Jonas Brothers are back and more pop than ever. Following their surprise announcement of their new single "Sucker," on Thursday morning, the brothers dropped their song at midnight the next day, making every girl from the ages of 18 to 23 reminisce of the days they spent watching Jonas Brothers YouTube videos and watched the Camp Rock sing along version over and over again.
"Sucker" comes after weeks of speculation of a musical reunion between the brothers, and fans were ecstatic over a new song after 5 years. In the past, the Jonas Brothers have been known for being a bit more on the rock and roll side of the music spectrum, even though they were thrust into the Disney spotlight and portrayed as a pop boyband. Especially in the early days, the trio looked like a punk band in the making, but "Sucker" seems to fit more into the fun pop songs we hear on the radio. It actually sounds a bit like "Feel it Still," by Portugal the Man, and if that song showed us anything, "Sucker" will be a success. It's already taken over Ariana Grande's spot for "7 Rings" for the most streamed song in the country on Spotfiy.
We know by now the Jonas Brothers are all grown up, they're either married or are about to be, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we hear more grown up lyrics, and not to mention some of the visuals in the music video, that aren't Disney approved. At the same, it feels like no time has passed at all and the Jonas Brothers we all know and love are ready to give us more music that won't be anything short of tunes that will last for years to come. It seems like the Jonas Brothers took their hiatus to explore themselves as solo artists and are ready to make the comeback our tween hearts have been waiting for.
